About Our Chapter

The SFPE Student Chapter at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University, serves as a professional platform for students passionate about fire protection engineering, safety science, and related disciplines. Our chapter operates under the guidance of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and strictly adheres to its professional standards and ethical guidelines.

Established in 2026, our chapter provides educational resources, networking opportunities, and professional development for approximately 50+ active members from various engineering departments. We collaborate with regional professional chapters and industry experts to bridge the gap between academia and practice.

Our mission is to foster technical excellence, promote fire safety education, and prepare students for professional careers in fire protection engineering through academic collaboration, industry engagement, and practical skill development.

Chapter Successfully Established at ZHCET

The SFPE Student Chapter has been officially established at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University in 2026. Founding members have completed the registration process with SFPE headquarters and received official recognition.

January 15, 2026

First Executive Committee Formed

The inaugural executive committee has been formed with officers from Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments. The committee will focus on building chapter activities, member engagement, and establishing industry connections.

Faculty Advisor Appointment

Dr. Arees Qamareen, Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, has been appointed as the faculty advisor for the SFPE Student Chapter, bringing extensive experience in engineering education and research.
